A new player in the security policy management space, Discern Security came out of stealth mode last June with $3M in funding to take their startup into production. For our fifth episode, we spoke to CEO Sai Venkataraman about motives and strategy for focusing on this corner of cybersecurity.
AI-Driven Security Controls Assessment and Policy Management With Discern Security
Founded in January 2023, California-based Discern Security offers a platform for ongoing policy management across all security tools within a given organization. Intended to be a “policy intelligence hub”, the platform leverages AI to continuously monitor and optimize controls across existing security tools, facilitating cross-platform intelligence across all security platforms, by creating a cybersecurity mesh.
The founders of Discern are no strangers to the security space, with CEO Sai Venkataraman having founded a startup called Security Advisor, which created the HDR category and eventually got acquired by KnowBe4, and all three had previously worked at McAfee in various roles.
